He's enjoyed a career to remember so far and Robert Snodgrass certainly isn't short when it comes to options for the future.
The 34-year-old is on the search for his next club after leaving West Brom by mutual consent on the final day of the transfer window.
And a return to Scotland could be calling for a player who hasn't played in his homeland since he left Livingston in 2008.
Record Sport revealed Aberdeen are keen and Scott Brown has already made his pitch for Snodgrass to join him in the Granite City.
The pair played for Scotland together and have maintained a close friendship both on and off the pitch.
And Snodgrass waxed lyrical about the current Dons skipper and assistant manager back in the summer of 2020.
Speaking on the Lockdown Tactics podcast, he said: "I think Scott Brown should be coming out of retirement (for Scotland). He's an elite level player when it comes to leadership. A terrific guy and when I played with him at Scotland he's a winner.
"You've seen Celtic dominate for a large part of his captaincy. And I think Scotland needs somebody like Brown."
Ultimately, Brown wasn't needed for Scotland as they reached the delayed Euro 2020 without him, but it underlines how he is regarded by those he has played with.
Hibs and Dundee are likely to express an interest if Snodgrass heads north, with Shaun Maloney also having a pre-existing relationship with Snodgrass due to their shared time at Hull and the national team.
Hibees followers will likely sigh at the prospect of another potential tug of war, with the likes of Vicente Besuijen, Ross McCrorie and Funso Ojo plumping for the Dons in recent seasons.
But another battle may be incoming with Snodgrass is the level of player who can improve sides with designs on securing a top-six finish in the Premiership.
Maloney's excellent playing career coupled with his coaching chops with Belgium will, understandably, earn him kudos from potential signings.
But the cult of personality that Brown brings may be too tempting to resist.
Snodgrass has never hid his admiration for one of his peers and there's a very real possibility that the former Celtic leader will go again next season before calling time on his trophy-laden playing career.
The prospect of the pair linking up might swing any decision for a player who has represented the likes of Leeds United and West Ham with distinction.
And Aberdeen appear in need of wise heads as their ropey form this season shows no signs of being quickly fixed ahead of the visit of Celtic.
