Breece Hall has been one of the lone bright spots in an offense for the New York Jets that has never found its footing since Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury in Week 1. Even with Hall’s efforts not going unnoticed, Robert Saleh wants to see a little more from the second-year back.
Robert Saleh said Breece Hall is a "special talent" but that "there's the grimy yards that a back has to understand he needs to get."
Said he's trying to create explosives right now and he needs to get more of the tough yards rather than always trying to hit a home run. #Jets

Following Friday’s lopsided loss to the Miami Dolphins, Hall has rushed for 569 yards and two touchdowns on 124 attempts in his first year back from a season-ending knee injury. The versatile back has also caught 38 passes for 320 yards and another two scores.
When looking at the advanced numbers, Hall is tied for the 11th-most rushing yards after contact (240) and the sixth-most yards after contact per attempt (1.9). According to Next Gen Stats, Hall is also seventh in rushing yards over expected with 105.
Running lanes haven’t been there consistently for Hall as defenses aren’t fearful of what Zach Wilson — and now Tim Boyle — is going to do from under center. The play-calling by Nathaniel Hackett has also been suspect where Hall isn’t being utilized correctly at times.
Saleh’s comments seem to be less about Hall directly, and more about trying to light a fire under one of his best players in hopes it can generate a spark — or even a glimmer — for a lifeless offense.
