WHOA. We have ourselves an NFL head coach firing just five weeks into the season, and it’s the New York Jets’ Robert Saleh.
It never felt like Saleh was that bad over the three-plus seasons he was at the helm of Gang Green. But he never had a winning record — four wins in 2021, seven in the last two seasons, and a 2-3 record to start the 2024 season — and the Jets are in a weird place where they think they SHOULD be contending with Aaron Rodgers under center.
Speaking of: there was a lot of talk about how it was Rodgers that got Saleh fired. Here’s a sampling:

No, it was Aaron Rodgers that fired Schefter.

The Robert Saleh firing is more evidence that Aaron Rodgers is running the show.
Going to be so funny when Randall Cobb or David Bakhtiari get hired as interim head coach.

Rodgers really does make all the decisions on that team. Wow. https://t.co/YZyF62PWgP
