Like many of us, The Batman star Robert Pattinson is torn on two of Final Fantasy 7’s main characters.
During an interview with Clique X, Pattinson (randomly) explained Final Fantasy 7’s love triangle to Zoe Kravitz, who plays Catwoman in The Batman, for some inexplicably hilarious reason.
“I was in love with Aeris — and Tifa! It’s the two options of girls you can have in [Final Fantasy 7],” Pattinson said. “It’s a love triangle where Aeris, or Aerith depending on what version of the game you have — it’s sometimes mistranslated. She’s like the really kind girl. Her superpower is to heal everyone and make the world a better place. And then Tifa is this sexy little thing who’s like a thief and starts to wear a short skirt, and you’re like ‘I can’t decide’ [between them].”

Pattinson cheekily summarizes that Final Fantasy 7 was how many men learned about love. Kravitz, who’s not familiar with the game, then had some fun taking the wind out of Pattinson’s sails.
“[So it’s] the one that’s going to heal everything and the one short skirt? These are the options? Oh my god,” Kravitz says during the same interview. “This is the problem with the world.”
You know, between this and NBA stars clowning on Pattison’s suit, Batman sure is getting roasted a lot lately.
