Robert Lewandowski joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in an exclusive Champions League club on Tuesday night.
Lewandowski became one of just three players to score 30 or more Champions League knockout goals in history when finding the back of the net for Bayern Munich. The centre-forward's goal gave the German side the lead in their quarter-final second leg against Villarreal.
That strike wasn't enough for Bayern Munich to progress. Villarreal, who beat United in the Europa League final last year, scored a late equaliser at the Allianz Arena to win the tie 2-1 on aggregate, knocking Bayern out at the last eight stage.

That means Lewandowski, Ronaldo and Messi are out of the Champions League as the competition reaches the semi-final stage.
Ronaldo scored six goals in seven Champions League appearances this season but that wasn't enough for United.
United lost 1-0 against Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford last month, meaning their fate was sealed in the round of 16.
United had previously drawn 1-1 with Atletico in Spain, but Diego Simeone's side proved better across two legs and the La Liga champions eliminated the Reds from the competition. Atletico will play Manchester City in the quarter-final second leg tonight.
