Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s presidential campaign has taken a significant step forward by submitting signatures to qualify for the ballot in Illinois. The campaign revealed that it submitted a total of 63,000 signatures in Illinois on the state's deadline for independent candidates to file ballot access petitions.

Under state law, independent presidential candidates in Illinois are required to submit 25,000 valid signatures to secure a spot on the ballot. The Illinois State Board of Elections will now undertake the crucial task of reviewing the Kennedy campaign's petition to determine its validity.
