Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently concluded a meeting with Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, lasting nearly an hour. Kennedy chose to keep the specifics of the discussion private, declining to delve into details when questioned by reporters.
Following the meeting, Kennedy refrained from confirming whether he had secured Sanders' support for his potential confirmation as the Health and Human Services secretary under the Trump administration. When asked about the possibility of collaborating with Sanders, who aligns with the Democrats, on reducing prescription drug prices, Kennedy expressed a general sentiment, stating, 'I think everybody wants to cut prescription drug prices.'
Additionally, GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana disclosed that he engaged in a candid conversation with Kennedy, describing it as productive. Cassidy holds the position of chair on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, a committee that will be involved in the confirmation process for Kennedy.
