Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Demands Debate Stage Inclusion

A recent poll has shown that President Trump is leading Joe Biden by three points, with independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in third place at 11 percent. Despite this showing, Biden has reportedly refused to allow Kennedy on the debate stage or provide him with Secret Service protection typically given to major presidential candidates. This decision has raised concerns given the tragic history of the Kennedy family, which has seen the assassinations of both Robert F. Kennedy and President John F. Kennedy.

In an exclusive interview on Sunday Morning Futures, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. expressed his reaction to not being offered a place on the debate stage. Kennedy revealed that discussions are ongoing with the relevant authorities, who have outlined specific criteria for candidates to participate in the debates. Kennedy stated that he meets all the required criteria, including being on the ballots in enough states to secure 270 electoral votes by June 20th.

Kennedy highlighted that both President Trump and Biden are not currently on the ballots in enough states to meet the criteria, making him the only candidate who qualifies. Another key criterion mentioned by Kennedy is the need for candidates to have polling support of at least 15% in national polls. Kennedy provided evidence of meeting this requirement by citing various national polls, including the most recent one showing him at 15%.

Regarding the public offer made by the authorities, Kennedy referred to it as a contract and confirmed that discussions are underway to finalize the details. The situation underscores the complexities and challenges faced by independent candidates seeking to participate in the presidential debates and receive the necessary support and recognition.
