Robert Downey Jr shocked fans with his new shaved head look at the 13th Governors Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
The Iron Man actor, 57, stepped out with his gorgeous wife Susan for the glitzy ceremony held at the Grand Ballroom of the Hollywood and Highland Center.
Fans of the actor were left shellshocked at his bald appearance - a far cry from his usual spiky hairstye - but he still looked dapper in his black dinner suit, accompanied with a black tie and neat white shirt. Susan oozed elegance as she beamed in a simple black maxi dress.
People were quick to comment on Twitter when they realised the Holmes actor's new appearance.
One fan wrote: "Just saw a very bald Robert Downey Jr and I’m never recovering from it.
A second said: "Opening this app & seeing Robert Downey Jr bald has shocked me," followed by a surprised face with exploding head emoji.
A third person replied: "I honestly see it and think it could be great. RDJ would make a GREAT villain."
Last month, Robert debuted his new bald appearance with a video on Instagram, which saw his children Exton, 10, and Avri, eight, do the honour of shaving their father's head instead of carving pumpkins for Halloween.
The caption for the video read: "The things we do for our work… and our kids. #Sympathizer set ready."
The fun video is a time lapse of Robert's youngest two kids using an array of clippers and razors to get rid of his locks. When the haircut was complete, Robert asks "what do I owe you?".
Exton and Avri whisper in dialogue as they keep their famous dad waiting. They decide they do not want money but younger sibling asks if he can get some help with a Halloween project.
Avri returns to shot as he wishes "Happy Halloween" before the camera pans to the Tropic Thunder actor, who is sat on a computer chair in an orange outfit and hat.
He then spins around in the swivel chair to show the back of his shaven head, which has been painted like a pumpkin to the delight of Robert's son.
The Sympathizer, based on the novel of the same name by Viet Thanh Nguyen, is a HBO drama where "a half-Vietnamese, half-French man serves as a spy for Communist forces during the Vietnam War.
It is scheduled for release in 2023 and also features Golden Globes-winning actress Sandra Oh.
