Robbie Williams reveals how he's coping with losing his hair at 48

Robbie Williams has said he is finally “embracing” losing his hair after numerous attempts to save it failed.

The 48-year-old relived the time he was once voted the Smash Hits Poll Winners 'best haircut' back in the Nineties.

But he told Radio 2’s Zoe Ball those days were long gone as he can’t do anything to keep his one luscious locks.

“We’ve both lived long enough to see me losing my hair,” the Rock DJ singer joked.

He explained: “It’s getting thinner and thinner. No one will give me a thatch job [hair transplant] because they say my hair is too thin.

“I can’t take any pills because they depress me. I’m just going to have to embrace Robbie Williams losing his hair.”

The former Take That star had a hair transplant back in 2013 - which he said he didn’t even need at the time.

He put it down to “living in LA” with wife Ayda Field saying: “If you live in Los Angeles for long enough, you’re going to get some surgery.”

But when his hair started going in 2020, Robbie was told he couldn’t have another procedure as by that point it was too thin.

He also tried having pricey follicle growth injections to boost his barnet, but that didn’t work either.

As he prepares to release new music and go on tour, Robbie has admitted he is even considering wearing a wig.

In a radio interview in Australia, he recently said: “I’m thinking of getting a hairpiece.

“There are these great wigs that you can get now. You have to shave all your hair off and then you have it placed on with glue and it sticks on for a couple of weeks.

“I might actually do it just for touring.”

Robbie’s comeback single Lost will be released on September 9 and is a song about him “revisiting 1995”.

He says a lot of people who were around at the time will be able to “relate to the lyrics”.

As well as new music – his thirteenth studio album XXV is out the same month - fans will get a glimpse into Robbie’s home life as the star is set to let cameras film a tell-all documentary.

Nobody Somebody follows the singer in his day-to-day life and is from the same team behind Liam Gallagher’s As It Was film.

A separate biopic, Better Man, is also in the works, which will see Robbie star as himself.

Robbie – who has just been announced as a headliner at Radio 2 Live in Leeds in September – will be touring across the UK and Ireland later this year.

His tour will kick off in London in October and end with gigs in Dublin a month later.

As well as music and film, the singer revealed he is building a hotel and has also appeared to have branched into the beauty market.

He has own skincare range called Hopeium, which includes moisturisers, serums and cleansers, so 2022 looks like a big one for Robbie!
