Singer Robbie Williams has offered his backing to Rangers ahead of their blockbuster Champions League showdown with Liverpool.
In fact, the pop superstar has tipped Gio van Bronckhorst's men to pull off a colossal shock and pile the misery onto Jurgen Klopp 's English Premier League giants after a sluggish start to the campaign. The Reds come into the game off the back of a disappointing display against Brighton at the weekend, where the Seagulls were 2-0 up in the first half before leaving with a 3-3 draw and are miles off the pace in a potential title race.
On the other hand, Rangers have showcased some of their best football on the European stage in recent seasons and Williams reckons it could be another massive night for last season's Europa League finalists. He reckons there are deep rooted problems at Anfield that the Scottish Premiership side can capitalise on to earn their first Group A points.
He told talkSPORT Drive Time: "I think it's either going to be a draw or I think Rangers are going to win to pile the pressure on Klopp. I don't want that to happen. I want Liverpool to win but it's the weirdest season all around and an underperforming Liverpool doesn't feel right to me. Something's going a miss there. Something has gone wrong and I think it will get even worse tonight."
