Robbie Williams opens up on diagnosis and explains his symptoms

Robbie Williams has opened up about his diagnosis and says that will explain any odd behaviour when you see him perform. The former Take That star was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder several years ago and says he became addicted to the drugs used to treat it.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Robbie said: "I got Diagnosed with ADHD a long time ago. They gave me Adderall …I'm an addict.

"Adderall is basically speed. This didn't work out well. But boy could I concentrate. It was ALL I could do. Really, really, really concentrate. For hours, days. On what though I have no idea.

"I just looked up what the H.D. bit stands for. Because I guess I thought It meant High Definition. ’Mr Williams, I'm afraid your attention deficit is low def.’

"Ooh, that would be a bad day. Apparently it means hyperactivity disorder."

Robbie said he looked up some of the symptoms: "Restlessness - My toes ‘'dance’' all day. They are never still, I wiggle them, wave them or try to make them stretch like a hand would.

"Another one is Impulsive."

Robbie finished: "So, if you ever see me on TV or on stage and my behaviour is making you raise a quizzical eyebrow, just know My AD is full being High Def."

Fans rushed to praise Robbie and give their support. CarolineInTheCityOfVienna replied: "I think this high sensitivity is one of the reasons why I and we love you and your work so much. You are not a robot but a very human human being feeling so much it's hard to cope with."

Goldie Letovsky said: "I think a lot of super artists and entertainers have ADHD… it takes a special kind of crazy energy to take on this mission— i see it as a gift, and added charisma, and when you know how to navigate through it you can benefit from it."
