Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field have revealed that they barely ever have sex, claiming “there is no sex after marriage”.
The Rock DJ hitmaker, 49, explained that his interest in bedroom activities decreased after coming off testosterone injections, which had been worsening his depression.
Discussing their relationship, the couple, who married in 2010, insisted they’re “on the same page” when it comes to intimacy and are happy with their lack of bedroom activity.
Speaking to The Sun, Williams said: “Everyone knows there is no sex after marriage. That’s just the way it is. I was on testosterone for a while but, because I’m an addict, that had to stop. I got these massive square shoulders and started to look like a doorman. It wasn’t a good look.
“But the sex we had when I was on testosterone was incredible; it was all the time. We were insatiable. It goes to show how into each other we really are, though, because when I was on it, we couldn’t take our hands off each other.
“I miss that. That was a fun period. Sometimes now, though, Ayda will turn to me on the sofa and say, ‘We should do sex,’ and I’m sitting there eating a tangerine and just sort of shrug. So, ya know, sometimes we try.”
While Field, 43, concluded: “Intimacy is the important, meaningful side of love. We’re happy.”
Their candeur comes after the singer showed off his new trimmer figure just months after admitting that keeping his weight under control is a “constant battle”.
Earlier this month, his wife shared a video of Williams, 49, playing with his son in the sunshine on her Instagram page, wearing just a pair of designer shorts and a pink hat.
Field captioned the video: “He’s got Robbie Williams’ eyes #zaddy #stillgotit #nofilterneeded #crush”.
The couple share four children: Theodora, 10, Charlton, eight, Colette Josephine, four, and Beau, three.
The singer has shifted weight ahead of the release of his latest album, marking 25 years as a solo artist for the former Take That star.
He recently spoke about how keeping his weight under control is often difficult due to his addictive personality, meaning he struggles with moderation and often obsessively eats.
