Robbie Neilson delivers Hearts injury latest with Haring, Halliday and Halkett all addressed

Robbie Neilson has delivered his latest Hearts injury update as he provided news on Peter Haring, Andy Halliday, Josh Ginnelly, Michael Smith and Craig Halkett.

The Jambos have an ever-growing list of injury issues as they continue to juggle Europa Conference League matters with domestic action. The capital club were hammered 5-1 in Florence by Fiorentina on Thursday night with that result followed up with a 2-0 Premiership defeat at Aberdeen.

Haring was forced off at Pittodrie with a head knock while Halliday also suffered an injury and was replaced by Lewis Neilson with an Achilles issue the reason for the former Rangers star having to depart the field of play. Hearts boss Neilson admitted Haring's injury was a 'real worry' at the time but he settled down in the dressing room and he will now go through the concussion protocols ahead of the Gorgie outfit's next game - although that is not important to the Tynecastle boss with the health of his player the most important thing.

He told BBC Scotland: “It was a real worry but he’s settled down and he’s come through that. The medical staff are looking after him and he seems to be in good condition. He’ll be assessed over the next couple of days and he’ll go through the concussion protocols and we’ll see how he is.

“It’ll be touch and go. I don’t know the ins and outs of it but the most important thing is Peter’s health and not the game."

Providing an update on his other injured stars including Halliday, he added: “The boy came down the back of his (Halliday) Achilles and that was him done.”

“The two of them (Ginnelly and Smith) we hoped to be on the pitch towards the end of last week. I’d love them all back for Saturday but the majority of them, apart from Baningime and Boyce they’re nearly there but we don’t want to rush them.

“He’ll (Halkett) be a week or two before he’s anywhere near it."
