Robbie Neilson has confirmed Hearts are plotting a move for Callum Paterson with the former star 'definitely on the list'.
The 28-year-old - capped 17 times by Scotland - has entered the final year of his deal at Sheffield Wednesday and will be free to discuss a pre-contract move elsewhere in a matter of weeks once it hits January 1. The 28-year-old, who made well over 100 top team appearances in the capital before leaving, could now be set for a stunning return with Neilson confirming he is on his radar.
The Gorgie club are eyeing up a number of transfer targets ahead of the winter window opening as they bid to finish best of the rest behind Celtic and Rangers once again and secure another European adventure after eight games that included six group stage matches in the Europa Conference League.

On Paterson links with Hearts, Neilson said: “I know Callum is out of contract at the end of the season, and he is one we have looked at.
“But he’s a Sheffield Wednesday player at the moment.
“We have a number of targets we are eyeing up ahead of the January window in certain positions.
“Callum’s one who is definitely on the list.
“But it’s whether it gets done or not.”
