Robbie Davies Jr makes blunt Darragh Foley prediction as war of words continues

Robbie Davies Jr has predicted he will stop Darragh Foley as the Irishman doesn't have enough to compete with him.

Davies Jr (23-3, 15 KOs) was set to square off with Australia’s Liam Paro but will now face late stand-in opponent Foley (21-4-1, 9 KOs) over ten rounds at the M&S Bank Arena on Saturday night.

The Australia-based Irishman arrives in Liverpool brimming with confidence following four straight wins, while Davies Jr will be returning to the ring for the first time since his points win over Javier Molina at the O2 Arena back in May.

“He’s stepped up to the plate and I’m looking forward to it. I don’t think he would take a fight with me on short notice if he wasn’t a capable fighter,” Davies Jr said.

“He knows I will bring it from the first bell to the last. I’m going to break him down and I am going to stop him.

"Every fight is a world title for me so I look at Darragh Foley as a killer. Whatever he brings, I’ll have more. I believe I can break him down and get him out of there."

While speaking on the fight, Foley said: “They had to bring in the heavy artillery for Robbie.

“If I am Robbie I want him to know that this is a lot more difficult fight than one with Liam Paro. I am definitely not here for the pay cheque. I’m here to fight. I’m not here to f**k around. I’m going to beat Robbie on Saturday and then I am going to headline in Brisbane.”
