Rob Gronkowski: ‘Sending much love and many prayers’ after Buffalo shooting

Buffalo-native Rob Gronkowski posted to Twitter on Sunday to share his condolences to the city of Buffalo in the wake of the racially-charged shooting on Saturday.

The shooter killed 10 and wounded three at a Buffalo supermarket, and police said they uncovered evidence that indicates the incident, which took place in a predominantly Black neighborhood, was “an absolute racist hate crime.”

The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end reached out with the following words.

“Sending much love and many prayers to the city of Buffalo. Especially to the families and friends of all the victims of the tragic shooting yesterday. Buffalo will always have a special place in my heart and what happened yesterday was devastating. Stay strong.”

Gronkowski grew up in the greater Buffalo area, where his family still has a home. He attended high school at Williamsville North High School, roughly 25 minutes from the supermarket where the shooting took place.
