Rob Gronkowski called out Aaron Rodgers for apparently prioritizing another MVP over a Super Bowl

Aaron Rodgers hasn’t waited long at all to spark the latest round of drama surrounding his Packers future, and even Rob Gronkowski is speaking up about it.

Rodgers did his weekly call into the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, and during the interview, Rodgers said that he believed he could still win MVP again in the right situation. Now, while Rodgers did speak about the desire to play for a contender (and the refusal to take part in a rebuild), many fans did find it odd that Rodgers basically mentioned winning another MVP as a goal compared to another Super Bowl.

Gronk certainly noticed that quote.

In an interview appearance with Kay Adams, Gronk — who looked like he was calling in from the dentist — thought chasing another Super Bowl would do more for Rodgers’ legacy than another MVP award.

Gronk said:

“I’m totally fine with everything he said except one major part and that’s the MVP again. It’s just that I think I can win another Super Bowl — and that would have been totally fine. Bro, like why are you thinking MVP? Like, don’t you want Super Bowls? Super Bowls are, I think, five times greater than an MVP award. We all know that you’ve won MVP a few times, but everyone would know more how many more Super Bowls you’ve won than MVPs. So, that’s why I’m just a little confused about that quote that he just had. It should be Super Bowls. You should never be thinking the MVP.”

Rodgers is still under contract with the Packers for at least another season (he has an out in 2024), but the team could be open to trading him depending on how this offseason plays out.

Fans also had thoughts on Gronkowski’s interview.
