Rob Beckett ‘accidentally’ unveils himself as The Masked Singer's Traffic Cone in tweet

Celebs Go Dating narrator Rob Beckett 'accidentally' unveiled himself as The Masked Singer 's Traffic Cone in a tweet that was meant for his social media team.

The 36-year-old comedian sent the tweet out while the ITV show was halfway through airing - leaving fans in disbelief.

Rob's tweet read: "Just send this out once I’ve been unmasked."

He went on: "Thanks for all the support being the Traffic Cone I absolutely loved it. Great show. The kids couldn’t believe it was me."

While some Masked Singer viewers took his tweet mishap at face value, others weren't convinced, and knew Rob's social media disaster must have been a joke.

"As if he'd make that rookie mistake! Stop lying to us Rob," one fan quipped.

While another insisted: "Rob Beckett sure knows how to throw people off. We all know he's not Traffic Cone."

However, several other viewers insisted they hadn't watched the episode yet and believed that Rob was actually being unmasked.

"I cannot believe how many people have fallen for this," one viewer tweeted.

"You wish you could sing that well," another mocked.

"Worst prank ever! Nice try Rob," someone else joked.

Although Rob has thrown viewers off from believing that he is the famous face behind Traffic Cone, more fans of the ITV show are convinced that he's actually Firework.

Other guesses include crooner Aled Jones and The Chase host Bradley Walsh.

Over the weekend, Traffic Cone was not among the characters at risk of getting unmasked thanks to his incredible singing voice.

Instead, it was Bagpipes who was unveiled as Australian tennis champion Pat Cash.

Poodle and Bagpipes found themselves in the dreaded sing-off after host Joel Dommett announced that Traffic Cone, Panda and Rockhopper had all made it through to next week.

The two characters proceeded to sing another song each, with Bagpipes opting for a Dusty Springfield number while Poodle sang a rendition of Clean Bandit's track Symphony.

As the performances came to an end, the panel revealed that they had decided to save Poodle - as Bagpipes was forced to take off their mask.

Davina McCall was thrilled that she had guessed right and was seen cheering as Pat spoke to host Joel.

Asked what made him decide to do The Masked Singer, Pat said: "I’ve always been a frustrated rock star and fancied doing the Masked Singer from the first day I saw it.

"I just thought it would be so much fun to rock out, although I prefer to hide behind a guitar instead of a sweaty mask. It was a great experience overall.

"As luck would have it, my schedule cleared. I’m a big believer in letting your higher power take over and I suppose it meant I was able to take part in the show."

The Masked Singer continues Saturdays at 7pm on ITV.
