Brisbane's resurgence since the return of Katrina Gorry has continued with the Matildas midfielder scoring twice in the Roar's 2-0 A-League Women win over Newcastle.
A first victory of the season secured against Western Sydney last week and goals in both halves on Friday from Gorry ensured Brisbane kept on rolling at Newcastle's No. 2 Sportsground.
For the Jets, however, it was a third defeat in a row and they have now conceded 18 times this season - five clear of the next most porous defence.
The Novocastrians also look set to potentially be without Murphy Agnew for an extended period after she was stretchered off after a heavy clash with Roar keeper Hensley Hancuff.
The 24-year-old went flying after colliding with Hancuff in first-half stoppage time, remaining prone on the surface for an extended period after landing heavily on her back.
Helped to her feet and receiving pain relief, she struggled to stand before being placed on a stretcher and taken from the field.
"(It's) something with her back," Jets coach Ash Wilson said.
"It was a horrible clash and you never like to see a player down for any reason, especially when it's something like a back - it's pretty serious.
"She came back to the bench so hopefully it's not as bad as what might be predicted, but we have to monitor that."
It added to a disappointing night for the Jets, who went down in the 10th minute when Gorry cut inside from the left and drilled an effort beyond goalkeeper Georgina Worth.
"We talked about Gorry being a threat and we didn't deal with that moment well enough," Wilson said.
Pouncing on a spillage from a long throw-in into the box on the hour, the 30-year-old Gorry made it two after skipping past a defender and dinking it beyond Worth.
After missing the first month of the season for a planned rest, Roar has a 100 per cent winning record with the diminutive midfielder in their starting side this season.
Largely blunt to that point, going 2-0 down seemed to spark the hosts to life, with Lauren Allan, Cass Davis, and Adriana Konjarski producing strong chances.
Goals, however, didn't follow and the Jets fell to their fourth defeat of the campaign.
