An investigation is being carried out after a collapsed drain led to a deep hole in a Liverpool road.
The drain has collapsed in Belmont Drive in Anfield. Residents said the problem has been getting worse with every recent downpour.
As our photographs show, the drain has fully collapsed, creating a deep hole in the side of the road. There are also large cracks stemming from the area, suggesting other parts of the road could be affected

One Belmont Road resident told the ECHO each day of rain has made the situation worse. They said: "It gets bigger with each downpour."

Liverpool City Council was informed of the problem today and staff members have been out to assess the situation this morning. They have taped off the area to make it temporarily safe.
The council said an investigation will now take place to find out the root of the issue and plan out works to repair it.
