Road rage stabbing in Franklin sends one man to hospital

A man has been hospitalised after he was allegedly stabbed in a road rage incident in Franklin on Sunday afternoon.

Police said the incident involving a blue Subaru SUV and a Black Mitsubishi Lancer occurred between 1.45pm and 2.10pm on September 15.

The incident on Flemington road in Mitchell began when the SUV allegedly pulled in behind the Lancer, police said.

"The drivers of the two vehicles began interacting while driving north on Flemington Road with both vehicles eventually stopping at Nullarbor Avenue, Franklin," an ACT Policing spokesperson said.

Police believe the two drivers did not know each other.

She said both male drivers exited their vehicles and a physical altercation allegedly occurred where the driver of the Lancer was stabbed in the chest.

The spokesperson said the victim was driven to the emergency department and the incident was reported to police

"Investigators would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the interactions between the two cars, or who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage of the vehicles travelling along Flemington Road to Franklin," she said.

Anyone who could help police was urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or on the Crime Stoppers ACT website.

They are requested to quote 7851567 and police said information could be provided anonymously.
