Chinese New Year 2022 celebrations take place in Liverpool this weekend.
Many people will head into the city centre to take part in a variety of events happening throughout the day to mark the Year of the Tiger.
After last year’s Chinese New Year was celebrated virtually, 2022 is likely to be bigger and better than ever before.
Traditional celebrations taking place on Saturday, February 5 and Sunday, February 6 will include a dragon parade combined with live music, dance, 3D projections, fire performances and artwork.
There’s likely to be a number of road closures and disruption due to the events taking place in Liverpool city centre.
From the evening of Friday, February 4 to the end of the Chinese New Year event, Grenville Street South (near Hardy Street) will be closed. Upper Pitt Street will also be closed from Hardy Street to Nelson Street from Saturday, February 5.
On Sunday, February 6, the following roads will be closed from 6am to 10pm:
