A road is closed in Kirkby-in-Ashfield following a two-car collision after reports a woman was trapped in the crash. Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service was called at 12.17pm on Tuesday (June 14) to a road-traffic collision on B6020 Chapel Street near its roundabout with B6018 Church Street.
Following the initial reports of a woman being trapped, once fire crews arrived, she had managed to get herself out of the vehicle. Minor injuries have been reported say the fire service, and fire crews have since left the incident.
Nottinghamshire Police were called at 12.20pm to the incident. It was confirmed at 12.52pm, the trapped woman was taken to hospital in an ambulance with injuries not believed to have been life-threatening at this time, say police.
Recovery is taking place of the vehicles involved, and Chapel Road is closed from the roundabout back towards The Co-operative while this takes place. It is currently unknown when the road is likely to reopen.
