Road closed following crash between car and motorbike as drivers told to avoid area

A BUSY road in the Scottish Borders has closed following a crash as motorists have been warned to avoid the area. 

Emergency services were called to the A72 between Clovenfords and Galashiels at around 2.45pm on Friday following a report of a crash involving a car and a motorbike.  

Police said emergency services are still in attendance and that the road has remained closed. 

It is currently unclear if anybody has been injured. 

The force has also urged motorists to avoid the area if possible.
