A fire broke out on a Welsh industrial estate, emergency services have confirmed. Firefighters were alerted to the incident at Dee Bank Industrial Estate in Bagillt, Flintshire, just after 10pm on Sunday with disruption continuing into Monday morning. Reports stated the fire was within a recycling unit on the industrial estate and the A548 eastbound was closed until 7am on Monday.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service announced the incident on social media and asked people to avoid the area. They also advised those nearby to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke.
In a statement posted to social media at the time of the incident, the fire service said: "We are dealing with a fire in a recycling unit on Dee Bank Industrial Estate in Bagillt. Please avoid the area if you can – the A548 eastbound has been closed.
"We recommend closing windows and doors if you are affected by smoke. Thanks for your cooperation."
North Wales Police added on Sunday night: "Following the large fire at Dee Bank Industrial Estate in Bagillt Flintshire, it has been necessary to close the eastbound lane of the A548 from its junction with the A5026 to the Manor Industrial Estate. A temporary road closure is in place and will remain closed overnight and into tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience."
