Firefighters issued a warning after rushing to a huge fire at a derelict school as police closed the road.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 7.45pm on Friday, July 1, following reports of a fire at the former Margaret Beavan School on Almonds Green in West Derby. Four fire engines and an aerial appliance arrived at the scene just five minutes later.
Crews were working outside and within the four storey derelict building to put out the flames.

There were large volumes of smoke and people living and working nearby were asked to keep windows and doors closed. Anyone with existing medical conditions were told to keep medicine nearby and call NHS 111 if ill effects occur.
A second aerial appliance, used as a water tower, was on the scene at 10:34pm as firefighting continued externally.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said the building was "well alight" as residents were told to avoid the area. Officers from Merseyside Police closed the road from Almonds Green to Meadow Lane.
The school was shut down by Liverpool council in 2004 and has since fallen into disrepair. It is understood the building was sold in July 2016 and is now in private hands, but little or no work has been carried out on it and its future remains uncertain.
