Road closed as emergency crews called to second fire on same street in a matter of hours

Emergency services are in attendance at a second house fire on a residential street in a matter of hours.

Police and fire crews were called to an incident in Pyle on Wednesday night, with Pyle Road currently closed in both directions between Pyle Garden Centre and Pyle Cross. A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they are in attendance at a domestic fire.

It comes just hours after Victoria Terrace, off Pyle Road, was closed in both directions for several hours after a house fire broke out on the residential street. That road reopened shortly before 10am, with no injuries reported.

The earlier fire broke saw fire crews called to the scene shortly after 6.30am, with the incident drawing to a close just over two hours later. There were no injuries, while an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Regarding the fire on Wednesday morning, a spokesman for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "At approximately 6.33am on Wednesday, March 22, we received reports of a fire on Pyle Road in Pyle, Bridgend.
