Road closed after person injured in crash

A person has been injured after a road traffic collision on Wednesday evening.

Peel Street, Dingle, was closed at around 7.20pm on January 4 after reports someone had been hit by a car. Images from the scene show two police cars on the street and several officers at the corner of Peel Street.

An eye-witness said an ambulance was also seen with paramedics treating a "young man" in the middle of the road. The road was closed for a short time while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The ECHO visited the street at around 8pm and there were no emergency services present with some residents saying they "weren't aware of what happened".

Merseyside Police has since confirmed that a person sustained "minor injuries" following a road traffic collision earlier this evening. A member of the public had "flagged down" a passing patrol car for assistance.

No serious injuries were reported and the road has since re-opened, with emergency services leaving the scene.
