The third day of the Republican National Convention is set to commence with a shift towards discussions on national security and foreign policy. Led by newly nominated Donald Trump and JD Vance, Republicans are expected to scrutinize Democratic President Joe Biden's management of ongoing crises in Europe and the Middle East. Former Trump administration officials, including Richard Grenell and Mike Pompeo, are slated to articulate the potential foreign policy direction in a second Trump term.

Key Highlights of Day Three:
JD Vance Takes the Spotlight

JD Vance, the 39-year-old Ohio senator and author of “Hillbilly Elegy,” will address a national audience, introducing his family and endorsing Trump's policies. Vance, who has cultivated a strong relationship with Trump, is expected to accept the nomination for vice president.

Focus on Foreign Policy

Speakers will critique the Biden administration's handling of global issues, emphasizing the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Israel-Hamas conflict. The theme of “Make America Strong Once Again” will underscore the Republican stance on foreign policy as a key campaign issue.

Republicans argue that America's global standing was stronger under Trump, despite a growing isolationist trend within the party. Former ambassador Richard Grenell highlighted the unpredictability of Trump as a positive factor in international relations.

Border and Immigration Concerns

While foreign policy takes center stage, Republicans are expected to address immigration issues, linking Biden's policies to potential threats to national security. Claims of foreign terrorists entering the U.S. illegally from Mexico will likely be highlighted, with recent arrests of individuals with suspected ties to extremist groups.

Full Schedule Yet to be Released

Organizers have not disclosed the complete lineup of speakers for the day, with announcements expected later in the morning.
