Rizin and Bellator knocked it out of the park with these amazing samurai vs. gladiator NYE event posters

I’ll admit a few things off the top here: I’m not a graphic designer, and I don’t know all the ins and outs.

I also am not a serial complainer of fight posters. You know, the group of people who congregate on Twitter every other week or so to express how ghastly disappointed they are at a UFC Fight Night poster for an Apex event.

Nope, that’s not me. So perhaps I’m wearing multiple jerseys as whatever the equivalent to an “armchair quarterback” is in judging combat sports art.

Anyway, I have to say that while a fight poster is never going to make or break my interest in an event, praise needs to be directed at promotions when they go the extra mile – like Bellator and RIZIN did for their upcoming New Year’s Eve event.

A well executed idea now gets a well executed poster with a samurai vs. gladiator theme, representing both Rizin and Bellator as some of their top fighters will compete against each other.

I dig it. All that’s missing is a badass, creative promo video, and they’ve hit the triple crown.

While this is a co-promotion and Bellator deserves half the credit, I have to tip the cap to Rizin’s graphics department in general. Again, I’m not one to get jazzed by this kind of thing – but they’ve consistently put out cool sh*t in the past few years.

Just look:

The Blue Corner is MMA Junkie’s blog space. We don’t take it overly serious, and neither should you. If you come complaining to us that something you read here is not hard-hitting news, expect to have the previous sentence repeated in ALL CAPS.
