Riyadh Boosts Efficiency of Airport’s Operational Movement

President of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation Abdulaziz al-Duailej inaugurated the new airport operations control center in Riyadh (Asharq AL-Awsat)

Riyadh Airports Company inaugurated an advanced airport operations control center at King Khalid International Airport to boost efficiency and sustainability in operations and improve the passenger experience.

This comes within the framework of increasing the level of integration between all sectors, the immediate sharing of information, and ensuring faster and more effective decision-making to enhance the flow of functional movement.

Riyadh Airports CEO Mohammed al-Maghlouth said that the new center would enable the company to fully control all its operational processes in its various facilities and allow for data-driven proactive measures, contributing to better planning processes.

President of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation Abdulaziz al-Duailej and chairman of the board of directors of Riyadh Airports Ghazi al-Rawia attended the event.

The control center will manage almost 700 daily flights, including passenger and freight aircraft, and aims to improve the services provided to more than 30 million passengers annually.

The center includes more than 25 operational, security and service agencies and contains the latest operational systems related to managing resources, operational monitoring, and performance indicators for airport management around the clock.

Meanwhile, flynas, a Saudi airline carrier, has launched its first direct flights between AlUla and Cairo, starting from October 6, 2022.

Flynas will connect AlUla and Cairo via two weekly direct flights, scheduled on Saturdays and Thursdays, from AlUla International Airport to Cairo International Airport.

The carrier connects more than 70 domestic and international destinations through its fleet of more than 35 aircraft and has transported more than 60 million passengers since its establishment in 2007.
