The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said fingerprint registration will be mandatory to issue a visa for pilgrims coming to Makkah from the United Kingdom, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bangladesh and Malaysia.
The decision aims to ease the entry procedures through the Kingdom’s ports and improve the digital experience for pilgrims.
In order to register their fingerprints, applicants must first download the ‘Saudi Visa Bio’ application on their smart phones.
They should then determine the type of visa, enter their passport information, take a picture of their face and match it with their personal photo on the passport, and then scan the fingerprints of all 10 fingers through the camera.
