Rita Ora opens up for first time about ‘favourite person’ husband Taika Waititi

Rita Ora speaks about her husband Taika Waititi for the first time publicly in an upcoming episode of The Jonathan Ross Show.

Ora, 31, appears as a guest on the show this Saturday night, and discusses her spouse Waititi, 47, whom she secretly married this summer, as they prepare for their first presenting gig together at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Last month, Ora and Waititi were announced as the co-hosts of this year’s EMAs on November 13 in Düsseldorf, Germany, becoming the first couple to lead the show in its history.

Speaking about the exciting gig, Rita tells host Jonathan Ross: “I hosted it back in 2017 but now I’m hosting it again but this time Jonathan I’m co-hosting it with Taika, my partner.”

She adds: “We’ve never worked together before. It’s nice to be able to do something fun with my favourite person. We’re the same person. It’s nice to find someone that you can have fun with, work with, respect and respect each other’s work.”

Ora began dating Thor: Love and Thunder director Waititi in March of last year.

The pair were reported to have tied the knot this August in a private ceremony in front of close family and friends, as they were seen sporting gold wedding bands around the time.

Aside from her EMAs preparation, Ora has been kept busy with several other projects, which she also discusses on The Jonathan Ross’ episode on Saturday night.

Ora features on The Masked Singer: I’m A Celebrity Special this Sunday on ITV with fellow panellist Ross, 61, and says about it: “It is so fun! It was so crazy.

“I know the iconic moments of I’m A Celebrity like Myleene [Klass] in the shower, and Katie and Peter falling in love. It’s lovely to sit next to you [Jonathan]. He’s like my showbiz uncle.”

The artist also talks about a new documentary she is involved in with Louis Theroux, adding: “I did this documentary with Louis Theroux. I’ve been asked so many times to do things about my story, journey and how I started in the music industry.

“I wanted to show my side of things and be completely honest and open the door to my family, and what it takes for a woman in the music industry.”
