Rita Ora ‘marries film director Taika Waititi in intimate ceremony in London’

Rita Ora has married film director Taika Waititi in an “intimate”  ceremony in London, according to reports.

The singer, 31, and director, 46, are reported to have tied the knot in a “super special” ceremony two months after the Hollywood director proposed.

It is claimed the singer has already changed her surname and will now be known as Mrs Waititi-Ora.

An unnamed source told the Sun newspaper: “It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.

“Despite living in the spotlight, Rita is determined to keep the relationship as private as possible and didn’t want to make a big song and dance about the wedding.

“A big, showbiz-style bash is planned to celebrate, but don’t expect to see it being flogged to the highest-bidding magazine.”

The paper also claimed singer Ora is “already back in the studio working on her third album” saying that she is working with writer Rollo.

The album would be the singer’s first studio album since 2018’s Phoenix.

Speculation was sparked after ORa was seen wearing a gold band on her ring finger which matched one worn by Waititi in another photo.

The Thor: Love and Thunder director was also spotted wearing a wedding band on Friday in Instagram photos shared by Ora’s sister on Instagram.

The singer had also uploaded the same photo to her own Instagram - but covered Waititi’s hand with her caption.

Reports in June had suggested the couple were due to be wed after almost simultaneously suggesting the idea.

The couple began dating in March 2021, and were later pictured cuddled up at the premiere of The Suicide Squad in Los Angeles.

They reportedly grew close while Ora was in Australia working as a coach on TV singing show The Voice.

New Zealander Waititi was previously married to film producer Chelsea Winstanley, with whom he shares two children.

Representatives for both Rita Ora and Taika Waititi have been contacted for comment.
