Riot Games, the developer behind the popular online multiplayer game League of Legends, has recently unveiled plans for a new game mode inspired by the indie hit Vampire Survivors. The announcement was made in a Dev Update video where the team shared exciting news about the future of League of Legends.
The upcoming game mode, set to be launched as part of the summer event later this year, is described as a bullet heaven survivor PvE experience. Players will navigate through waves of enemies using automatic weapons, reminiscent of the gameplay in Vampire Survivors. While the concept seems promising and aligned with the League of Legends universe, some may view it as another instance of Riot Games drawing inspiration from existing popular games.
Additionally, the Arena game mode in League of Legends is undergoing a rework for its third run, following a successful second iteration. The mode will now feature 16-player lobbies, allowing for more diverse matchups with eight teams of two competing against each other. This change aims to enhance the gameplay experience and reduce repetition in player matchups.
Furthermore, fans can anticipate visual updates for popular champions in upcoming patches. Lee Sin's visual update is scheduled to debut in patch 14.9 on May 1, showcasing improvements to the iconic character's appearance. Another champion, Teemo, known for being a polarizing figure among players, is also slated to receive an ASU in patch 14.20, set for early October.
The Dev Update video provided a comprehensive overview of the upcoming changes and additions to League of Legends, offering players insights into what they can expect in the coming weeks and months. With exciting new game modes, champion updates, and gameplay enhancements on the horizon, the League of Legends community has much to look forward to in the evolving landscape of the game.
