Rio Ferdinand trolls Jamie Carragher as Raphael Varane sends Manchester United pledge

Here are your latest Manchester United morning headlines on Sunday, June 11.

Ferdinand takes aim at Carragher on Twitter

Manchester United hero Rio Ferdinand has continued his "feud" with Jamie Carragher by once again poking fun at his fellow pundit on social media platform Twitter.

After being called a clown by Liverpool icon Carragher recently, Ferdinand brushed off any animosity between the two on his ever-popular FIVE podcast before ignoring him when they next met in person.

Ferdinand walked past Carragher initially before getting down to business for their respective TV networks for the Champions League semi-final showdown between Manchester City and Real Madrid last month; going on to shake Carragher's hand as well as sharing a laugh and a joke with him.

Varane outlines pre-season target for United

Raphael Varane has vowed to come back "fighting fit" for pre-season training at Carrington as Manchester United prepare to return to the top table in Europe next season.

Having retired from international duty, the World Cup winner will play no part for France this month as they meet Gibraltar and Greece in two Euro 2024 qualifiers. Injuries aside, that means Varane will be able to put his feet up for the first time in 12 months to properly recuperate.

Varane, 30, missed an important stretch last campaign as he dealt with a foot problem, while his injury record over the years contributed to him calling it a day with Les Bleus after giving everything "mentally" and "physically" for his country - hanging his boots up following the winter showcase in Qatar.
