Rio Ferdinand slams Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness over treatment of Roy Keane and Gary Neville

Rio Ferdinand believes Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness should be “ashamed of themselves” for their treatment of Roy Keane and Gary Neville following Liverpool’s 7-0 win over Manchester United.

The Red Devils hero was speaking after Liverpool crashed back to earth with a defeat at Bournemouth on the weekend, a result which he has claimed underlines their “small club mentality”.

After United’s shock thumping at Anfield, Keane and Neville were subject to numerous taunts from their fellow pundits in the Sky Sports studio in scenes that irked Ferdinand

He told his FIVE YouTube channel: “The way Souness and Carragher were celebrating... The way they were trying to antagonise the guys [Keane and Neville] - and then their team goes and does that on the weekend.

“They should be ashamed of themselves.”

Ferdinand added that he does not think Liverpool will finish in the top four following their loss at Bournemouth, with a tough Champions League trip to Real Madrid coming up next.

He added: “They’re gonna get slapped, get hurt. Madrid aren’t in great form but the Champions League music comes on and a different Real Madrid comes out.”
