Rio Ferdinand has said that Raheem Sterling must become more efficient if he is to succeed at Chelsea this season, with less chances coming his way than at Manchester City.
Sterling scored 131 goals in 339 games during his time in Manchester, but will face a new challenge in a different system under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. However, Ferdinand says that he is looking forward to the former Liverpool star doing well during his time in London - it will be the first time that he has played professionally for a club in the city of his birth.
Ferdinand was speaking on his Vibe with Five YouTube show when he made the comments, saying: "He’s going to have to be more efficient this year if he’s going to put the same numbers up because he’s not going to have as many chances. I’m looking forward to seeing him do well."

Ferdinand then went on to outline what needs to be done in order for Thomas Tuchel to succeed this season under the new ownership of Todd Boehly, saying that the club need to bring some new life into things having appeared to be 'out of sorts' of late before questioning the Blues' top four credentials.
Chelsea produced a solid, if unspectacular, 1-0 win over Everton in their opening Premier League game at the weekend. Ferdinand said: "They seem out of sorts, man, the comments from the manager I just feel he’s not happy, the manager, he’s just not happy with the way the recruitments gone, getting the players in, a lot of players want to get out.
"Chelsea didn’t look like a team that were running fluid (vs Everton), they looked a little bit all over the place, you see the frustration with the manager after the game, he wasn’t happy with how they played. But again, it’s the environment at the training ground, there’s a lot players he knows who want to leave.
"They’re very open with that, Werner going to Leipzig, Alonso declared he’s going to Barcelona. I don’t know, my top four, City, Liverpool, Spurs then I think it’s going to be a shootout because Arsenal, Chelsea and United - if we’re going on the first week of games, United are going to be lucky to get in there."
