Rio Ferdinand sends clear Liverpool warning to Chelsea, Manchester City and Man United

Rio Ferdinand has warned Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United that Liverpool have the quality to win the quadruple this season.

The Reds lifted the Carabao Cup trophy at the end of last month as they beat Chelsea on penalties in the final at Wembley, and they are still on course in the other three competitions this season.

Jurgen Klopp's team have closed the gap to Man City at the top of the Premier League table to six points, with Liverpool playing a game less than the leaders and with the two still set to go head-to-head at the Etihad Stadium next month.

Liverpool are also through to the FA Cup quarter-finals after beating Norwich City last week and travel to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest on March 20 in the last-eight of the competition.

Meanwhile, their UEFA Champions League dream stayed alive after they beat Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate in the Round of 16.

Chelsea remain in the FA Cup and Champions League but their Premier League title ambitions are all but dead.

Ferdinand has warned those around Liverpool, including the Blues, that the Reds are capable of going on and winning all four competitions this term.

"I do not want to imagine it. Listen, they have the quality. No doubt," Ferdinand said on BT Sport on Tuesday evening.

"This squad is full of winners, full of people with big passion and desire to go and win things.

"The mentality, the mindset is there, they’ve got a great manager pushing them. It’s not beyond them, we’ll have to wait and see."

As mentioned above, Chelsea's main opportunities of winning a trophy, or trophies, this season are in the Champions League and FA Cup.

The Blues take on Lille in the second-leg of their Round of 16 tie next Wednesday, with the European champions boasting a 2-0 lead going into the definitive clash in France.

Meanwhile, three days later, they make the trip up north to take on Middlesbrough in the FA Cup quarter-final.
