Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino are the current frontrunners to replace Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea's boss.
The Brighton boss is the odds-on favourite with Sky Bet to make the switch to Chelsea, with Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane being mentioned to become the new Blues head coach. However, Rio Ferdinand has thrown a different name into the hat.
Brendan Rodgers has endured a torrid start to the season with Leicester City, who are winless and rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table after six games, but Ferdinand believes the Foxes boss would represent a 'logical' appointment from Todd Boehly.

A highly-rated coach, Rodgers spent four years at Chelsea - the first two as a head youth coach and the latter two as reserve team manager. The Northern Irishman joined the club in 2004 when Jose Mourinho was manager after a recommendation from his assistant, Steve Clarke. Rodgers also worked under Avram Grant and Luiz Felipe Scolari.
"I think it would be logical or not too outlandish of an appointment," Ferdinand said on FIVE.
"He's been at Chelsea before, he's proved he can do wonderful things at a football club and build a football club, he's won the FA Cup with Leicester, a team you wouldn't consider a favourite for that.
"Yes, they're struggling right now, but I think a lot of that is down to recruitment, resources and investment - a lack of that has put him in this position now. I don't think where they are in the league right now reflects the quality of manager Brendan Rodgers is. Can these owners see past that?
"What they'll be doing is looking at Leicester and going 'we can't just sack Thomas Tuchel and go for a manager bottom of the league'. I don't think they'll be looking at his history, the body of work he's done that would put him in a position to make him a candidate, I don't think."
