Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes that Marcus Rashford and five other Reds would have a chance of making it into the current Manchester City team.
The two heavyweights will clash on Saturday lunchtime when United welcome their neighbours to Old Trafford in the Premier League. Last time out at the Etihad Stadium, stunning performances from Erling Haaland and Co ensured a 6-3 hammer of Erik ten Hag's side for City.
However, since the World Cup break, Uniyed have been the in-form team in the Premier League having beaten each team that has come up against them, conceding just the one goal in the process. At present, Ferdinand believes that United are moving in the right direction to compete with City once again.

When asked for his combined XI by the I newspaper, the 44-year-old named six players who could potentially be selected. He explained: "On form, you have to say Marcus Rashford would have to be in the team.
"You’ve got to say [Christian] Eriksen would be in with a shout, Bruno [Fernandes] would be in with a shout. Casemiro or Rodri is a massive one in terms of form.
"The two best holding midfielders in the league. Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane would have an argument to get in the team as well, so you could put a good case forward.
"The fact you can have an argument over four or five players getting into the team, or to have a conversation about it at least, is a step in the right direction." The gap between United and City has also shortened in recent matches too.
United sit four points behind City having played the same amount of matches. Pep Guardiola will be hoping for a reaction from his team this weekend after they were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of struggling Southampton.
