Rio Ferdinand issues Chelsea striker transfer prediction as Harry Kane dealt Tottenham ultimatum

Rio Ferdinand has backed Chelsea to sign Victor Osimhen, with Manchester United eyeing a move for Harry Kane. Both strikers have been heavily linked with big moves this summer as they continue to impress in the Serie A and Premier League, respectively.

Osimhen, who sees his deal with Napoli expire in 2025, has featured 22 times for Luciano Spalletti's side this season, directly contributing towards 24 goals. His eye-catching performances have steered the Italian giants within touching distance of the Scudetto.

Meanwhile, Kane has recently entered the final 18 months of his contract at Hotspur Way and, having not yet committed his future to the north London outfit, he faces a somewhat uncertain future. football.london understands Fabio Paratici has been in contact with the England international's representatives regarding plans to discuss a new deal but formal discussions have not yet begun.

It's also understood that Kane is open to discussing new terms with the club. Despite this, Ferdinand believes that Chelsea will go for Osimhen because a move to Chelsea is off the cards for the Spurs captain.

"I reckon Chelsea this summer go for Osimhen," the former United defender told Five. "Man United are going for Harry Kane. Harry Kane isn’t going to Chelsea from Spurs, no chance.

"If you play football as a young kid, what is your goal? To win trophies. He is at Spurs, who want to win trophies. They can’t, they don’t. Since the Champions League final, they have gone backwards in terms of the way they are playing and closeness to winning things.

"They are nowhere near it," Ferdinand added. "But you have to ask him the question, that is the questioning we need answering from him. Tell us man, 'I want to be a one club man, I want to have the statue outside, I’m Mr Spurs'.

"We will all say, well played, that’s fine. But there is a chance to come here now, to Man United. I would love him to, but the problem you have got is Levy, what price is he going to ask for."
