Rio Ferdinand and Peter Crouch are in agreement that Manchester United is the only realistic destination for Harry Kane in the summer. The 29-year-old striker faces an increasingly uncertain future at Tottenham with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.
Prior to the departure of Fabio Paratici last month, football.london understood that the Italian had been in contact with the England international's team to discuss an extension. It's said that Kane is open to discussing a new deal but, as it stands, he's yet to commit his long-term future to the north Londoners.
With Spurs unable to clinch a Champions League qualification spot this term, he's expected to be subject to lots of interest in the summer transfer window. A controversial move to Chelsea has been mooted, with former boss Mauricio Pochettino expected to take charge in west London, but Kane has been ushered towards joining United instead.

Speaking on BT Sport ahead of Tottenham's clash against Brentford, Crouch explained why Old Trafford is the striker's only plausible destination. The former Spurs and Liverpool striker said: "If he goes, where could he go? Man City’s sewn up really now, Manchester United’s the only real option I can see.
"He can’t go to Chelsea, he can’t go to Arsenal. Newcastle’s still potentially an option, but I still feel that’s a sideways move. Newcastle have got great potential but I’d feel like he might as well stay at Tottenham.
"There’s something very special about being a one-club man," Crouch added. "There’s players at Liverpool who probably could have been like Steven Gerrard or Jamie Carragher but moved onto other fields and were maybe not as well thought of as those players, and Harry Kane, yes he might go and win a trophy, but here they’d build a statue of him.
"He’d be able to bring his grandkids here and say I’m the top goalscorer [for this club]. If he goes to Chelsea or Arsenal – there’s potential with Pochettino for him to go to Chelsea – you might win a trophy but it’s not going to feel the same as if he stayed."
Then, when Ferdinand was asked the same question, the former United defender replied: "Man United. If he wants to break the Premier League record as well - which I think is in his mind and in his sights.
"He’s a fabulous player and whatever he does he’s a guy whose career is going to absolutely be celebrated because of what he’s achieved. He’s been a phenomenal servant to this club and the game of football, the way he conducts himself and carries himself. He’s an absolute icon of the game in this country."
