Rio Ferdinand and Kate Wright's wedding guests slammed for shattering peace at hotel

Rio Ferdinand and Kate Wright's wedding may have been their dream day, but for guests who happened to be staying at the hotel where they tied the knot it was more like a nightmare.

Holidaymakers at D Maris Bay in Turkey raged that the couple's wedding party were noisy; allegedly blaring out loud dance music and shutting down the pool.

They also claim that they weren't warned that half of the resort, where rooms cost up to £4,000 a night, would be taken over by the ceremony, while branding the wedding guests "chavs".

One guest took to Instagram to rant that the "beauty and tranquility" of the luxury hotel was destroyed by the noise.

A rap track with the lyrics "You what, you what, you what" was played at maximum volume and could be heard from miles away, they claimed.

The poster told the hotel: "I hope visitors avoid you like the plague. Why the f**k would you take this booking?

"Oh yeah, the wedding was for a celeb. Happy wedding, Rio Ferdinand."

The Instagrammer claimed they weren't angry with Kate and Rio, but with the management of D Maris Bay for not handling the event well.

They added: "I'm very happy for the former football player and his new bride. But to the management of D Maris Bay, I say good luck with your short-termism.

"How could I recommend a resort that closes one of its beaches for an entire day, then closes its pool the next day for a private after-party that spoilers the entire bay?

"Oh and it ain't cheap."

Mirror Online has contacted Kate and Rio's reps for comment.

The former TOWIE star and former footballer have said "I do" after getting engaged in November, last year.

The nuptials were shrouded in secrecy, with guests asked to hand over their phones before the three-day celebrations got underway.

The no expense spared bash was officiated by Mayor of Marmaris, Mehmet Oktay.

The reception is said to have kicked off mid-afternoon on Friday with guests of the happy couple enjoying a booze free bar and food prepared by expert chefs.

The bash then ended with a huge pool party at the 196 room retreat.
