Though the Kansas City Chiefs don’t typically goad their opponents before games, they constantly contend with trash talk online.
The Chiefs’ budding rivalry with the Cincinnati Bengals always brings out a certain inferiority complex in the feline-themed franchise, which threw a sucker punch at the reigning Super Bowl champions on Twitter last night.
In their infinite wisdom, Cincinnati’s social media team made an unoriginal joke about Kansas City in an ill-advised attempt to poke the bear ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs.
In their post, the Bengals, who have never won a Super Bowl in their history, feigned incompetence relative to basic geography, which seems fitting given the team’s history of almost-unbelievable ineptitude and mediocrity.
Made it to Kansas.

For their part, Kansas City’s social media team didn’t respond to their ringless (and, to this point, winless) opponents, and decided to let their play do the talking.
Fans in the Buckeye State are encouraged to consult a map and crack open a history book (Kansas City, Missouri was founded before the state of Kansas) before kickoff on Sunday afternoon.
