Ring doorbell's have many cool features to help keep your home safe.
But not many owners of the devices will be aware that the technical home addition can bring a bit of festive cheer to your front door. People are only just realising that the Ring device can change up the sound to a merry chime and add a special Christmas greeting for visiting friends and family.
All you need to do to select a new chime is make sure you've got the Ring app installed on your phone or tablet. Then open the app and select the device that you wish to edit before selecting the audio settings and clicking on the option for 'Chime Tones.'

Click on this and you'll be able to browse through a number of options, including Christmas chimes such as Festive Ding Dong and Holiday Jingle. Once you've found the one you like, make sure to hit save changes to use the new sound.
You can also use Quick Replies to add a festive message for visiting friends and family or even the hoardes of delivery people who may come to your door. For example, instead of a standard greeting, you could have one that says: "Merry Christmas!... We’re a little, wrapped up at the moment. Leave a message."
If this wasn't all festive enough for you, you can also give your doorbell a Christmas makeover to match the decorations in your home, as Ring sell interchangeable holiday faceplates that snap on over the top of your device. There are five different looks to choose from, including snowflakes, Christmas wreath and Christmas lights and each cost £14.99.
