It’s not long now until Rihanna makes her almighty return to the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show next month.
Fans have been waiting years to see the global superstar, 34, perform again, after having last taken to the stage at the 2018 Grammy Awards, and many hope the singer will debut some new music during the show in February.
Ahead of her highly-anticipated performance, Rihanna’s boyfriend A$AP Rocky has shared how he is just as excited as fans – if not more - to see her return.
In a new interview with Apple Music, the rapper, 34, said: “I’m so glad that my lady’s back making music again and whatnot, and getting back out there. It’s just incredible.
"The Super Bowl is huge, and her being the creative she is, she going to bring it, man. I’m excited. I’m more excited than everybody else, honestly."
Rihanna and Rocky welcomed their first chid together, a baby boy, last May. The couple began dating in 2020, following a 10-year friendship.
Rocky spoke with Apple Music ahead of the release of his new album, which he shared he is putting the finishing touches to. He hinted that his girlfriend might possibly also be gearing up to drop new music this year.
Rocky said: "Especially for both of us, it is a good year for both of us to be more active and be out there.”
Rihanna’s fans, whom she has fondly dubbed her ‘Navy’, have been requesting for the artist to release new music since her last album Anti, dropped in 2016.
Perhaps this is the year the Work singer greets fans’ wishes as she performs at her upcoming halftime Show.
The superstar will take to the stage on February 12 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona for Super Bowl LVII.
Rihanna dropped a teaser video ahead of her performance days ago, which saw the singer stroll towards the camera in a bright yellow furry coat as she sported a braided updo.
In the background, voices could be heard asking “where have you been?”, as Rihanna simply put her finger to her lips, sparking even more excitement among fans.
