Chris Brown seemingly congratulated ex-girlfriend Rihanna as she announced that she is pregnant with her second child during her Super Bowl LVII halftime show.
The Barbadian singer, 34, kicked off the highly-anticipated live performance on Sunday - her first in seven years - suspended high above the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on a floating stage.
Dressed in red, the star made a knowing look to the camera and then opened her jacket and stroked her pronounced stomach hinting that she was with child, which was later confirmed by her representative.
The internet was ablaze with well-wishes and Brown’s didn’t go unnoticed.
“GO GIRL,” Brown, 33, wrote alongside a red heart and praying-hands emojis on a purple background.
Brown and Rihanna - real name Robyn Fenty - dated in the late noughties and he infamously pleaded guilty to physically assaulting her in 2009.
After accepting a plea deal, he was sentenced to 180 days of community service, five years of formal probation, and domestic violence counseling.
This is not the first time that he has offered a virtual olive branch.
Last May, Brown congratulated Rihanna and her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, on the birth of their first child, a baby boy.
“Congratulations,” he wrote on Instagram Stories, adding emojis of a red heart, a pregnant woman and praying hands.
In 2020, the Fenty Beauty Founder spoke at legnth to Oprah Winfrey on her Super Soul podcast about how she had worked to move on from the past, revealing that she and Brown had “built a trust again” and were “very, very close friends.”
