Besiktas have addressed negotiations with Rangers over a move for left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.
The Light Blues have been in talks with Besiktas over a deal for the 21-year-old as they look to fill the void left by Calvin Bassey following his move Dutch giants Ajax. The talks have now been confirmed by the the Turkish club who have set the asking price at £6m asking price, which has proven to be a sticking point for the two clubs so far.
A club statement from Besiktas read: "Beşiktaş Futbol A.Ş. reported to the Public Disclosure Platform that negotiations have started with Glasgow Rangers club for the transfer of one of our professional football players, Rıdvan Yılmaz. The statement sent from Beşiktaş Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. to the Public Disclosure Platform is as follows: 'Negotiations have started regarding the definitive transfer of our professional football player Rıdvan Yılmaz to Rangers FC Club'.”
Claims in Turkey suggest the player has left the pre-season training camp to undergo a medical at Ibrox. Should a deal be completed he would become Gio van Bronckhors t's seventh signing of the summer.
